What is a Winter Car Check at AJ 4X4 ?
Shorter daylight hours, lower temperatures and wet or icy roads can expose existing tyre, battery, visibility and fluid-condition problems.
A winter vehicle check records the condition of the agreed items at the time of inspection. It is not a guarantee against a future fault or breakdown; any repair or replacement recommendation is discussed before further work is authorised.
Tyre Inspection
The agreed check can record tyre tread depth, visible damage, pressure and general condition. Tyre suitability also depends on the vehicle, load, use and prevailing road conditions, so any concern is reported for the owner to consider.
Battery Inspection
Lower temperatures can reveal a weak battery. Where included in the agreed scope, the workshop can inspect the battery installation and record available test results. A battery test describes its condition at that time and cannot rule out a later failure.
Coolant and Antifreeze Check
Where accessible and safe to test, the agreed check can cover coolant level, visible condition and available freeze-protection readings. Coolant is not automatically mixed or topped up: the correct specification and any signs of leakage or contamination must be considered first.

Lights Inspection
Where included, the workshop records whether the accessible exterior lights operate at the time of the check. This is not an MOT and does not certify continuing compliance.
Oil Check
Where the vehicle permits a reliable check, engine-oil level and visible condition can be recorded. Any oil recommendation is matched to the vehicle specification and service history rather than changed solely because it is winter.
