Privacy Policy for AJ 4X4
Last updated: 3 September 2026. The data controller for this website is AJ 4X4 LTD, company number 16880662, registered office Unit 5b Mill Lane, Passfield, Liphook, Hampshire, United Kingdom, GU30 7QU. This notice explains the website data flows identified in the controlled source; using the site is not treated as consent to optional analytics or marketing.
Information you choose to provide
The contact form asks for your name, phone number, email address and message. The booking form also asks for a vehicle registration, service selection and any further details you add. Please do not include unnecessary sensitive information.
Technical and cookie information
The hosting and security systems may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site. The contact and booking forms use hCaptcha, supplied by Intuition Machines, to help detect automated abuse. Essential local storage records your cookie choice. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics are configured to load only after you select “Allow analytics”; non-essential analytics storage is denied by default.
Published workshop updates may include a link to a video on YouTube. AJ 4X4 pages do not embed or request that YouTube media automatically; YouTube receives the request only if you choose to open the external link, and its own privacy terms then apply.
The site may also link to AJ 4X4 information on Google Maps and Facebook. These services are not embedded by the site; Google or Facebook receives a request only if you choose to follow the relevant external link, and the provider's own privacy terms then apply.
See the Cookie Policy for the current analytics identifiers, how the choice works and how to withdraw permission.
Why the information is used
- to read and respond to an enquiry or booking request and take requested pre-contract steps;
- to operate, secure and troubleshoot the website where there is a legitimate operational need;
- to meet legal, accounting or dispute-handling obligations where they apply; and
- to measure website use through Google Analytics only where consent has been given.
Who can receive it
Information is limited to AJ 4X4 LTD and the providers needed to host and secure the website, deliver an enquiry or support the relevant service. Intuition Machines processes technical information when hCaptcha is used on a contact or booking form. Google processes analytics information only after analytics consent. These providers may process information outside the UK under their own data-protection terms and safeguards. Information may also be disclosed where a legal obligation requires it.
The website source reviewed for this notice contains no mechanism for selling website enquiry details. AJ 4X4 LTD must update this notice before introducing any materially different use or disclosure.
How long it is kept
A website enquiry that does not become a booking is kept for no more than 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless it is needed for a complaint or legal claim. Records connected with completed work, payment or accounting may be kept for up to six years after the end of the relevant financial year, or longer where a specific legal dispute requires it. Security and hosting logs follow the relevant provider's documented retention period.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law can give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict personal information, object to certain uses, ask for portable information, and withdraw consent. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing. Contact service@aj-4x4.com to make a request. Identity checks may be needed before personal information is released or changed.
You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Details are available at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Changes and contact
This page will be updated when the website's data use changes. Questions about this notice or the use of personal information can be sent to service@aj-4x4.com or raised through the contact page.
