Land Rover Discovery - Non-Starter
This Discovery Sport came to AJ 4X4 with an intermittent non-start fault. We carried out a full diagnostic check using dealer-level equipment and traced the problem to a weak signal from the fuel pump control module to the powertrain control module.
The module was located in the passenger-side rear wheel arch. This is a harsh area for an electrical control unit because it is exposed to water, road dirt and debris. Once the fault was confirmed, we replaced the module, checked the wiring and calibrated the new part to the vehicle.
After the repair, the Discovery Sport started correctly and was road tested before handover. Non-start faults can be caused by batteries, immobilisers, fuel delivery, wiring or control modules, so a structured diagnostic process is essential before replacing parts.
AJ 4X4 carries out Land Rover and Range Rover diagnostics, electrical fault finding and repair work from our Liphook workshop for customers across Hampshire, Surrey and the surrounding area.
